M G Gilligan Ltd treats the privacy of our customers, patients and website users extremely seriously and we take appropriate measures to safeguard your privacy. Any data we have is used in accordance with your ongoing care and provision of orthoses.

This policy explains how we protect and manage any personal data*. Including how we collect, protect, process and share that data.

*Personal data means ANY information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to first and last name, a home or other physical address and an email address or other contact information whether at home or work.

How we obtain your personal data

If you/your child/ someone you care for has been seen by an Orthotist then your details will have been taken at the time of assessment, these details- both paper and computer files will be held securely. This information will have most likely included some or all of the following information:

Name, address, date of birth, email, contact telephone numbers and NHS reference number.

This data will have been asked for at the time of the initial assessment and your consent to providing this information will have been taken by you disclosing those details to us.

We may have also received your data by another party. That could have been by one of the following: - Your GP, another health professional, the hospital/clinic that you have been seen at or by your insurance company, solicitor or case manager.

How we use your personal data

We use your personal data securely and confidentially as part of your clinical history.

We may use your personal data to contact you if we have any queries in relation to the product/service we are providing.

How is your personal data stored?

Your data is stored securely both as paper files and on computer. The computer files are accessed using a secure log in username and password. Files are kept in a locked secure room.

Who can see my personal data?

The data we hold is accessed by our clinicians and administrational staff.

Do we use your personal data for marketing purposes?

No. M G Gilligan Ltd does not undertake any marketing activities.

Do we share your personal data?

If we use any external companies/suppliers then we ensure that no personal data is disclosed. Instead we use reference numbers that will be unique to each patient and does not contain any personal data.

How long do we hold your data for?

We retain your information for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide our products and services and to maintain records.

Do you have the right to request to see what information we hold?

Yes. You are entitled to request access to the personal information we hold on you; any such request should be made by either of the following options:
